About Us

Welcome to The DeWitt House, a retreat house for quilters and crafters of all types in Platteville, WI. Our beautiful brick home, constructed in 1907, features elegant wood floors, window seats, a furnished kitchen, four bedrooms with a balcony, and plenty of off-street parking. Inside, our guests are treated to a large gathering room, 2 connecting workrooms each with 5 tables, hydraulic chairs, extra lighting, a cutting station, an ironing station with iron, and design walls. We can accommodate up to 10 people. We're passionate about providing crafters with the opportunity to focus on their projects without distractions. Reserve your stay today!

The owner of Hidden Quilts has put a lot of effort into making sure every quilter has plenty of space, lighting and comfort. I love the quilting boards and sharing designs and collaborating details with other quilters. Sewing areas excellent, kitchen is fully equipped, beds are very comfortable with a maximum of 3 beds in each room and bathrooms are conveniently located for the 2 AM visit! A wonderful place to retreat! It has everything a quilter needs, just bring your sewing machine, fabric and supplies and make quilts! The house interior is beautiful, the sewing space is lovely and the beds are so comfortable! It’s near the UW campus, you can walk to the university activities.
